Business Leader Award Finalists

Scanning Pens started out as just a pair of individuals passionate about technology and delivering it to those that need it. Choosing to support those with reading difficulties and dyslexia was a very personal choice for the Co-Founder and CEO, Jack Churchill, who also has dyslexia. That personal experience has helped give Scanning Pens life.

The accolade from Bett at the start of the year was a direct reflection of the hard work that has brought Scanning Pens and our assistive technology through its 15 year lifespan. The prestige isn’t stopping with Bett.

Business Leader Awards 2017

Recently, Scanning Pens were confirmed as finalists to the BLA (Business Leader Awards). We were nominated as the “Export & Business of the Year”, the category for businesses with over 51 employees. Over 51 - that number shows how far Scanning Pens has come from the two impassioned personalities that began it. The actual number of employees is now closer to 80 worldwide.

Another number that Scanning Pens is proud of is 50%. That number is an estimate at how many secondary schools in the U.K have our reading support helping our students. As a British born company, this is a topic that’s particularly close to our hearts. Having such a positive impact in shaping the minds of the future isn’t just an achievement, but a duty that Scanning Pens is endlessly proud to perform.

Scanning Pens’ ReaderPen and ExamReader are global. We’ve got growing offices in the U.S, Australia, Canada, and India. Each of these country headquarters are delivering the portable reading support where needed, doing everything we can to update learning strategies to fit the new generation of digital natives.
